Crowe, William d. 1912
BODY OF YOUNG MAN FOUND ON RAILROAD
Second Son In One Family To Meet Death Under Wheels of Train
(Special to The Herald)
CARLISLE, Ky., June 17--William Crowe, age about 23 years, was found dead on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad this morning. His body was badly mangled. Only a few details can be learned regarding the tragedy It is believed that Crowe went to sleep on a railroad bridge near his home, between Carlisle and Myers Station, near the Durham crossing and that he was killed by the Cincinnati excursion which passed through this city about twelve o'clock last night. He was a son of Mr. Mike Crowe, section boss on the Maysville branch of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, and is the second son in the family to be killed by a railroad train. About five years ago on the same bridge his brother, John was killed.

MURDER IS SUSPECTED BY FRIENDS OF CROWE
They Believe He Was Slain and His Body Placed On Railroad Track
(Special to The Herald)
CARLISLE, Ky., June 19.--The funeral of William Crowe, who was supposed to have been killed by a train early Monday morning, was held today. Funeral services were held at St. John's Catholic church in this city and burial was in the Carlisle cemetery. Some of Crowe's friends are inclined to doubt his being killed by a train. They think that he met with foul play, and that his body was placed upon the track to avoid suspicion.
Crowe had been working on the railroad and had collected his month's pay the day before he was killed. When his body was found only $1.50 was found in his clothes. A careful investigation will be made.
