Amherst, NH Area Deaths Reported 7 Sept 1838
DIED.
In Hollis, 14th ult. Mary Chaffin, wife of Leonard Chaffin, aged 50 years. Her death was much lamented by her friends and acquaintances. She was a member of the church in Hollis, and died in the hope of a better world.
In Chichester, of the scarlet fever, Aug. 21, Frances Harriet, aged four years and six months; Aug. 25th, Charles Gutzlaff, aged three years---children of Rev. Rufus A. Putman. Of six children none has escaped the disease.
In Temple, 30th inst. Mr. Levi Pierce, aged 60.
In Brookline, Aug. 12, Mr. Abraham Bailey, aged 92. Printers in Vermont, &c.
In Mason, 31st July, James Wood, Esq. aged 83. Printers in Vert., Maine, N. Y. &c.
In Nashua on the 20th instant Elizabeth Fletcher, wife of Philip Fletcher, aged 79 yrs. 7 months and 7 days.
Sarah Bruce, wife of Joel Bruce, aged 33.
In Milford, Mrs. Salter, wife of Rev. J. W. Salter.
