Berlin, Irving Jr. d. 1928

24 DAYS OLD SON OF THE IRVING BERLINS DIES CHRISTMAS DAY

NEW YORK, Dec. 26---The baby boy credited with healing the father-daughter breach in one of America's most talked of romances is dead.

Irving Berlin, Jr., 24 days old, died of a heart attack early Tuesday before a horrified young nurse as his song-writer father and his mother, the former Ellin Mackay, slept.

Mourning replaced the anticipated celebration around the Berlins' Christmas tree. Few callers were received, but among them was Clarence Mackay, president of the Postal Telegraph Co., the father who practically disowned Ellin Mackay when she was marred to the Jewish Berlin a few years ago.
