Ballinger School Driver's Burial Rites Set Today
BALLINGER, Nov. 2--Funeral service for James Edward Davis, Ballinger school bus driver, was to be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Newby--Davis Funeral Home chapel here.
Mr. Davis, who had formerly worked as a bookkeeper and as a farmer, died here Thursday on his 45th birthday. He was born Nov. 1, 1906 in Runnels County and had lived here most of his life, except for 18 months he spent in Artesia, N.M.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Mae; a son, Dwight, and a daughter, Barbara Helen, both of Ballinger; three brothers, Horace Davis, Bradshaw; Chester Davis, San Antonio, and Foy Davis, Artesia, N.M.; and three sisters, Mrs. Morris Stokes, Ballinger; Mrs. D. D. Garrett, Sterling City, and Mrs. Gladen Bedford, Winters.
The Rev. C. D. Wooten, Ballinger Methodist pastor, will conduct final rites, assisted by the Rev. Tom Granger of Winters. Burial in Old Runnels Cemetery will be directed by Newby-Davis Funeral Home.
